sona; this is my own compilation based on a collection of variations of the traditional American song "The Longest Train"
My girl, my girl, what have I done,
that makes you treat me so?
You’ve caused me to weep, you’ve caused me to mourn;
you’ve caused me to leave my home.
The longest train I ever did see
went down that Georgia line.
The engine came at 5:30;
the cab passed by at nine.
The purtiest girl I ever saw
lived on that railroad line.
She had red ruby lips, fair blue eyes,
and curls flowing down behind.
Her daddy was a railroad man,
killed a mile on down that line.
His head was found in the driving wheel;
his body they never could find.
Long steel rail, short cross ties;
I’m on my way back home.
I asked my captain for the time of day;
said he throwed his watch away.
